James Durkin is a graduate of Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. He has a BS in Health & Physical Education, a Minor in Coaching, and a MA in Education Administration from Wilmington University. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Exercise Science. He is a certified International Sports Science Association Strength & Conditioning Coach, and a certified American Fitness Professionals Associates nutrition consultant. James has been a physical education teacher in Delaware for 18 years. His teaching experience includes; 11 years at Sussex Tech teaching Strength &; Conditioning and Health 7 years at Milford Middle school in Delaware, and 1 year in New Rochelle, New York as a Physical Education instructor.
James also spent one year at Iona College as an assistant football coach and also a strength and conditioning coach for the Football and girls Basketball team. For over 3 years he has been a speed and strength conditioning consultant for Wesley College.
He has experience coaching various sports such as football and track; football for 16 years and track for 2 years.
For 25 years, James has been strength training people of all ages and sexes to help them achieve their fitness goals. As a result, his clients have excelled in various activities. These activities include football, track, field hockey, softball, lacrosse, soccer, golf, and basketball. These athletes all have made significant improvements in their speed, agility, strength, size, flexibility, and overall general physical preparedness.
Over the past 10 years, James attended several clinics. In 1999, he attended an American Fitness Professionals & Associates clinic. Between 2000-2003, he participated in an Elite Athlete Training Systems clinic. From 2004 to 2008, he attended a 3 Day Perform Better Now Functional Training Summit.
